Las Vegas Golf
Desert?
What desert? Las Vegas' arid landscape is complete with several
golfing retreats.
With over 75 area golf courses, it's possible to spend just as
much of your Las Vegas getaway making par on the greens as hitting
twenty-one in the casinos. The city's courses have played host to
several prestigious PGA tournaments. Still, with the fanfare surrounding
the hotels and casinos it's easy to overlook the golfing opportunities
that Vegas offers, so here's a quick overview of the locations,
fees and highlight's of the region's golf courses.
Las Vegas Golf Course architects include renowned designer Tom
Fazio, PGA players, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, among a list
of other PGA players that have made contributions to the Las Vegas
golfing terrain. Johnny Miller and Chi Chi Rodriguez teamed to build
the Badlands golf club around gouged gullies and rock outcroppings
make for true target desert golfing. The Arnold Palmer designed
Oasis course pulls golfers up tight fairways that make for a golf
experience that is at once challenging and one of the most beautiful
in the state. Not to be intimidated - Las Vegas golfing is for everyone.
You'll find lighted courses, driving ranges, and par 3 courses for
the whole family.
